Racial Justice Training (Workshop 2)

Event Details

This is a repeat workshop for ACFID members. This workshop’s content is the same as Racial Justice Training (Workshop 1) and is being held on a different day, date, and time to accommodate ACFID Members.

Participants who will be attending the Racial Justice Policy Writeshops later in the year, are strongly encouraged to attend this Racial Justice Training.

ACFID members are invited to attend a half-day training on racial justice. The purpose of these trainings is to help ACFID members understand and implement racial justice and anti-racism strategies in their workplace. The training will also support members meet the new ACFID Code Commitments related to Anti-Racism and Racial Justice.

There will be pre-reading required for this workshop.

It is designed to be a safe and collaborative environment for ACFID members to understand racial justice. That is not just the absence of discrimination and inequities, but also the presence of deliberate systems and supports to achieve and sustain racial equity through proactive and preventative measures.

This training will cover:

  • Racial justice in the context of development and humanitarian practice
  • How organisational systems can reproduce or interrupt racial hierarchy
  • Culture, safety, and institutional accountability
  • Bridging commitment and practice
  • Preparing for organisational action

ACFID encourages multiple people from each organisation to attend.
