Three Years on from the International Development Policy: Reviewing Australian Aid Performance

Event Details

The International Development Policy (IDP), launched in 2023, introduced a new results and accountability framework for Australia’s aid program. The IDP formally commits to publishing a yearly Performance of Australian Development Cooperation (PADC) report to track performance and promote transparency. Three annual PADC reports have been released since 2022-23, providing a system-wide assessment. Beyond results, Australia tracks delivery quality and partner perceptions, which constitutes a notable innovation relative to other donors. This session will present findings from ACFID’s analysis of performance against the latest PADC report (2024-25)’s three-tier framework, and an assessment of progress three years after the release of the IDP, measured against the key priorities, strengths, and gaps identified by ACFID at the time of the policy's launch.
