ACFID Connect: Co-Design – A Bottom-Up Approach to Development Effectiveness

18 February 2026

Transform Aid International (TAI) developed its Co-Design approach in 2022 as a bottom-up, participatory method for designing and implementing community development projects. The goal of this approach is to ensure transformative participation of project communities and other key actors in the design and implementation of community development projects, and to ensure power sharing between project communities, implementing NGOs and funding INGOs.

This approach moves beyond traditional top-down practices, contributing to genuine localisation and the decolonisation of development interventions. Communities directly shape and control their own development agendas, fostering equity and sustainability.

In this webinar, TAI will showcase this transformative practice, share lessons learned, and create space for reflection and collaboration. Participants will gain practical insights into enabling better development through localisation and power-sharing.
